Tussel with Tessa

Tosh has had the job to take care of or neighbor Molly's cat, Tessa, when she leaves town on occasion. Tessa is getting a little old and cranky and hisses at Tosh every time he goes to feed her and clean her litter box. I went with him tonight so that I could catch the hissing in action and post it on the blog. So, she hissed right away but I missed the shot as usual... so I told him to try to pet her again. He refused and went to fill her bowl. Before we left, I talked him into trying again. When we went in the room she started making some low growling noises and Tosh said "I dont' think this is a good idea- she might attack us". Then she started growling and hissing and Tosh said "I am not going to be any part of further provoking this cat" and turned to leave. At this time I was between the cat and the window waiting for my shot and still trying to get Tosh to come back. Just as he left the room, she sprung to her feet and went psycho hissing and rrrraaaaarrrrrooowwing and the 2 of us ran from the house with our tails between our legs. About then I was asking myself "who is the adult here?"

Much Needed Rain

So Connie always finds it hilarious that people are always talking about the "much needed rain." For example, she'll say, "I can't believe it's raining again." And the response repeatedly will be, "Yeah, but we really need it." We'll let you be the judge as to whether or not this was a "much needed rain."

The ferocious winds, rain, and hail knocked our power out for over 24 hrs. That night we went over to our friends to bum off their electricity. As we drove over, there were trees down everywhere; in the street, on top of cars, and smacked against houses and apartments. Of course Connie was intrigued by it all.

Feel free to PANIC...this is NOT a drill!

Well folks, I finally did it. I took the big plunge or more appropriately...the BIG CHOP! I've always wanted to go into a salon and give them a very vague description of what I want and then let them just go for it on my hair (which is very surprising considering my emotions are almost completely correlated with how my hair looks :)

At any rate, I went into the salon today planning to "go crazy" and take off 4-5 inches. I told her that I wanted it shorter, but still vivacious and sassy! She said, "well I have an idea, but I think it'll involve a little more length coming off." She suggested I go for at least 8 inches off and to donate it. I had a panic attack, followed by complete agreement. This is basically what ALWAYS happens when I go to get a cut. I freak out, totally disagree with the suggestion (ie. BANGS) and then find myself nodding and saying, "sure that sounds great." Well before I could change my mind the hair was cut! Eight inches on the sides and TEN from the back!

You might think, what's left to cut, but there still ended up being QUITE a bit of hair on the ground when I left. It wasn't easy, but I think I really like it.

In case your thinking..."what, her hair wasn't really that long, was it?" Answer...yes, it was.

Coming soon....Preston's reaction!

Footloose

Dad and I and Annette and Preston went to see Jane perform in Footloose. She did a great job in her part as WendyJo.... a ditzy teenager. We had a great time and I caught a few video clips to share with those of you who were not able to attend.

Last "High Adventure"

Here is Tosh, off to his last High Adventure in Northern Michigan. Not what I would call a "happy camper". He did have a great time but this photo was taken early in the morning before departure.

Operation TOT (Take Over Tabiona) Part 2

So we took another trip down to Tabiona, but really Aubrey lives in Hannah, but it is easier to say that you are from Tabiona I guess. We took a trail down in Hannah and I found a sweet steel wire that was a zip line, but it didn't work which was lame, but it's all good I just improved. It was a great trip and I got to ride the 4 wheeler again, but this time the rain started coming down and it felt like needles hitting yor face. It was sick.

This was a picture at Ashley Wings birthday party. She is the girl in the pink on the right. I know that you guys have been checking face book to see what she looks like, but here she is. We have been dating for roughly a month or so.

This is the Bear Lake trip that we went on with the singles ward. Emily Marvin (the one that introduced Ashley and I) has a cabin up at Bear Lake and so we had a killer time on the boats and tubing and chilling at the beach of Bear Lake and then chilling in her cabin. This picture right here is Ashley and I getting some freckin sweet rasberry shakes at the Quick and Tasty. Suprisingly enough they lived up to their name. The service was pretty quick as you can see the giant line that was infront of us becaus their rasberry shake is so famous and it was very Tasty. That is all that is going on with me as of late.

La Nasty!

So upon moving here we went shopping and I HATE going grocery shopping for the first time in a new place because you need EVERYTHING. So I brought Preston because he doesn't get stressed about stuff like that. We grabbed some basics and also some quick meals. We ran across some La Choy meals in the asian food section that looked good and easy and Preston grabbed a sweet and sour one. Let the horror begin...
The other night we were starving and it was late so we tossed the la choy on the stove and cooked up some rice. Basically people, it was seriously the nastiest thing that has even gone into my mouth. I'm talkin REALLY nasty. Basically, even though I was starving, I couldn't bring myself to eat another bite. Who knew that Mac and Cheese would ever rescue us from an even more disgusting meal!
Consider yourselves warned.
