So, I have been trying to do some family history on the Sugiayma side. I have found some stuff which has been fun. For those of you who may not know about our great cousin Hiroshi, here is some information I found on him. The article was written in August 2006. He is a good lookin relative and sounds like he was a great medic.
Hiroshi Sugiyama was a combat medic in the 442nd RCT, 3rd Battalion HQ. He enlisted in 1941. While attached to K Company, he was the last 442nd medic to be killed in action, April 22, 1945, only 10 days before the armistice. While rushing to the aid of a wounded soldier near Tendola, Italy during the Po Valley Campaign, he was hit in the head and died instantly.
The Go For Broke National Education Center's Resource Center staff is slowly unfolding the life of Hiroshi Sugiyama. A collection of his belongings were recently acquired – including meticulous notes and carefully captioned photographs. There are more than 100 items in the collection including: Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medals, assorted badges and pins, knapsack, photographs, letters, and his handwritten journal. His stuff was bought at an estate sale and then sold to this Go For Broke company.
I think that Tim or Tad kind of looks like him. Anyway, Enjoy.

Good work!! I love it. He is a handsome guy. I was thinking that he looked a lot like Tad but a little like Taki. But, since you mention Tim, I can see that too in the bottom picture. Thanks for this nice piece of family history.
Yeah I can see the resemblence and if he looks like me of course he is going to be a good looking man.
Good one tad. I love that Tad is on here now! awesome!
Lor, you rule. I can't believe all the stuff you sent me. Really neat.
Yay!!! Tad is on and commenting. I am such a happy mother! He even has a photo...making it all official. Thanks Tad. The next project would be to get Tim and Kat on and then.....(gulp)Dad. Yeah, I know, it would be a BIG ONE- but not impossible.
