The End of an Era

Here we are in the senior year of our last child. Who would have thought that this day would ever happen? Both Mrs. Weatherwax and I were feeling the closure of a large part of our lives at the last 2 local band competitions this year.

The show was about "the seasons" of the year. The grand finale was "Summertime" which is my favorite. I taped it but forgot that they were wearing their rain coats that night. I tried several times to download the video but am giving up. sorry.

ah...high school marching band...mr. colley screaming at us, practices during seminar, band camp, the silver dome, really awesome tan lines, getting busted for wearing flip flops, never actually playing my part, just playing the melody (and not very well)...one of the highlights in my life! If all band people could just post about how cool the band was, that would really help my case with preston. No matter how many times I tell him it was cool to be in the band, he will not believe me! Good work Tosh, way to finish the era with class. Wish we coulda seen the show.

Yeah, band was so cool. I think that all four years that I was in band, half the homecoming court and both the king and queen were in the band. Mr. Colley is what really made our band cool, People only did it for him cause he was hilarious and rocked! Plus our family was in the band and we are cool, nuf said!
