Ninja warfare

Dad and I have had a large infestation of fruit flies in the kitchen. Last night I came up with a fun game for family night to get rid of them. At every commercial we donned our robes and head bands and fought fruit flies. Dad took the challenge seriously and nearly knocked me down as he sprang to his feet at each commercial. The really funny thing about this photo is that I had never used the delay and wasn't sure if it would work. Then, to complicate matters, we actually saw a fly while we were waiting for the camera to take the picture and both of us wanted to get it. As can be expected, Dad won 10 to 7 but I put up a good fight. Remember when we had a FHE swatting those little black flies from our wheat in the basement on Breckenridge?

Ok, I am seriously jealous cause it looks like you are having more fun than I am. Next time, extreme challenge. One must kill fruit fly with chopstick.

HOLY FRICKEN HOLY! I seriously just peed my pants....twice. This is THE funniest picture I've seen in a while (which is really saying something since I pride myself in taking such pictures). So this is what empty nesters do, eh? You guys are WAY out of control, I LOVE it.

I didn't mention that we did have a rule "no body, no point". Each of us had a paper towel square where we put our little bugs to rest. I'm afraid we would both strike out with chop sticks as our vision isn't what it used to be but you can all probably picture dad catching sight, his body freezes, only his eyes are moving as he stalks his prey and lunges for the snap... with near perfect accuracy. I- on the other hand am just slapping will nilly in the air hoping to come up with something.
