This too shall pass....

Or... tale of a kidney stone. It looks like the magic bus... or the devil... missing one horn (note the little pokey horn on the left side). At any rate, this little source of irritation presented itself this morning before church after taking a 2 week cruise down dad's pipes. The picture says a thousand words.... OWWWWWCCCHHHH! This kidney stone is so big, I think we should name it. Any suggestions? Dad keeps his little collection of stones in a pill bottle next to the pills I take in the middle of the night. Anyone see any potential for disaster in this situation?

So somehow the little pokey horn landed on the right side when it was posted. I do know my right from my left... unlike the girls who have to label their hands:)

Ouch (to both the giant stone and the dis from mom). I'd be more offended if it wasn't true, but I still do have to hold up both hands like L's to know left from right...

I did barf a little in my mouth when I thought of mom accidentally swallowing a kidney stone in the middle of the night...gross. seriously.

Is there a reason dad keeps them? I guess it's kind of like how we use to keep all the teeth we lost...only creepier...

My heart goes out to dad. I never understood why kidney stones were sooo painful until I took anatomy and saw how TINY the ureters are...here's hoping it's not hereditary :)

Yeah, Con had a nice little dry heave as she read the post as well. So I'm just picturing dad fishing out his kidney stones from the toilet. Or does he just pee in a cup. Notice I didn't put a question mark so I don't want to know. No more details. Dad is hilarious.

OK, so I won't tell you that there is a handy little strainer that kidney stone patients get... sorry to make you all gag. The stone is actually analyzed and dad will be told to stop eating peanuts and chocolate and other things that he will keep eating... so that's the story and I am sticking with it.

I'd like to name it beast or alien rock or buckeye. I think that the fact that we keep losing to Ohio state, may make buckeye the most appropriate.
